論文準備指南淺析英文論文題名編輯的基本原則
名的基本要求: 準確(Accuracy)、簡潔(Brevity)、清楚(Clarity)。
英文題名最好不超過10–12個單詞(盡量控制在100個字符以內(nèi));如若能用一行文字表達, 就盡量不要用兩行;在內(nèi)容層次較多、難以簡化的情況下, 最好采用主、副題名相結合的方法;題名開頭避免使用Thoughts on ..., Regarding …, Study…等泛詞。
題名應清晰地反映文章的具體內(nèi)容和特色, 力求簡潔有效、重點突出; 盡可能將表達核心內(nèi)容的主題詞放在題名開頭; 慎重使用縮略語; 避免使用化學式、上下角標、特殊符號(數(shù)字符號、希臘字母等)、公式等，以防止數(shù)據(jù)庫中題名信息的損失。
用于期刊中頁眉的眉題(Running Title)是論文題名的縮寫，一般不超過40個字符;眉題應包含論文中最核心的內(nèi)容。
英文論文題名的句法問題
由于題名比較簡短, 無需主、謂、賓齊全，因此一定要注意句法問題。如果詞語間的修飾關系使用不當, 就會影響讀者的理解;通常情況下由最能反映論文核心內(nèi)容的主題詞擴展, 形容詞應與其所修飾的名詞緊密相鄰。如：
差: Cars blamed for pollution by scientist (科學家造成的污染歸罪于汽車)
好: Cars blamed by scientist for pollution (科學家將污染歸罪于汽車)
差: Mechanism of suppression of nontransmissible pneumonia in mice induced by newcastle disease virus (該題名的本意應是pneumonia was induced, 而不是mice was induced)
好: Suppression mechanism of nontransmissible pneumonia induced in mice by newcastle disease virus (小鼠中新城病病毒誘導的非傳染性肺炎的抑制機理)
題名中通常需要較多地使用介詞，一定要注意確保介詞前后名詞的關系清楚、意思明晰。如：
Anesthetic management of carotid surgery (頸動脈外科中的麻醉處理, of 應修改為 for)
差: 14C sampler in air (在空氣中的14C取樣器)
好: A sampler for 14C in air (空氣中14C取樣器 ¾采集空氣中14C的取樣器)
差: Formulation of equations of vertical motion of finite element form for vehicle-bridge interaction system
好: Finite element based formulations for vehicle-bridge interaction system considering vertical motion (車橋相互作用系統(tǒng)有限元形式的豎向運動方程)
